A plant lovers’ garden packed with cottage garden style foliage and flowers.

A real plant lovers garden in Flushing. This garden was re-designed to make the plants the star of the show. No lawn was required, but access to the garage, summer house and rear exit were essential. Instead of straight paths we created curved paths with a planted centre.

We created an intimate circular patio surrounded by planting and installed small Cornish stone walls in the planting beds to mirror the shape of the paths. We had to screen the large existing oil tank with fencing, but the climbers soon scrambled up and blended it in to the rest of the garden. We went for a more cottage garden feel for the planting which really does soften the hard landscaping features. It does require more maintenance, but as a plant lover the client loved pottering and adding to the beds!
